Our monthly research meetings are friendly and informal.  Everyone is welcome, you do not have to join straight away but can come along as a guest for up to 2 sessions. Our meeting fee is £2 per member and £3 per guest.

At our meetings the library’s records and facilities plus those of the society are available for you to carry out your research. We have a bookstall selling society publications and a microfiche & reader hire service and lending library.  Help and advice is available from experienced genealogists and local historians. We can help you to get started in family history, suggest ways that you can break down brick walls that you might have come up against, tell you about local life at the time your ancestors were alive and put you in touch with others who share your ancestors. There is a great deal of genealogy on the internet nowadays most of which is uncorroborated. We can help you to confirm or refute what you have been told and to put flesh on the bones of your family tree names by showing you how and where to access original records.

Please note that a degree of computer competency is required. Our volunteers can help you with your family history but there is not time at these sessions to teach basic computer skills. We do not offer to complete your family tree for you.  We are here to help you to succeed in doing this for yourself.

Warwickshire libraries charge £2 per 30 minutes (after an initial free 30 minutes if you have a library card) for use of all computers.  Groups such as NNWFHS who book the use of a library outside of normal opening hours are also charged for computer use in addition to the normal library hire charge.  The charge to groups is a flat rate £2 per evening, per computer with no free time at the start.  We regret that we are unable to absorb this cost and therefore a charge of £2 per computer will be implemented for members and guests wishing to use the library's internet linked computers.  Payment will have to be made before a computer can be logged on and the charge will cover the whole session or part thereof.
